The Ina joins the Lumière Festival to pay tribute to Gérard Depardieu
The Ina is offering all festivalgoers the chance to see an exceptional selection of photographs of Gérard Depardieu.
The third Lumière Festival is paying tribute to Gérard Depardieu by awarding him the Lumière Prize. On this occasion the Institut National Audiovisuel (National Audivisual Institute) wishes to contribute to the event by presenting the bank of images that it possesses of one of the greatest French actors.
> This exhibition is entirely dedicated to Gérard Depardieu and features hitherto unpublished photographs taken during film shootings, programmes and reports, etc., showing the different facets of Gérard Depardieu as an actor.
>The 20 exceptional photographs will be exhibited at the Lumière Institut (free admission) throughout the festival from 3rd to 9th October.
A Tribute to Gérard Depardieu
> During the Closing Ceremony in the Tony Garnier Hall on Sunday 9th October, Gérard Depardieu will receive a digital award from the Ina.
> Mathieu Gallet, the current CEO of Ina, and Thierry Frémaux, Director of the Lumière Institute will present all these television or radio recordings since 1970, representing three hundred hours of shots, interviews and reports from French Television, to Gérard Depardieu.
